Profile of D'angelo W.

Part-Time, 2 Years of Experience

As a competitive elementary student I was always ready and willing to assist a fellow student in understanding the topics discussed in class. However it was not until high school that I began to develop a passion for tutoring. We were required as seniors to choose from a number of fields in which to perform our Senior Service--I chose education. I tutored at Loving Elementary School on the East Side of Detroit, enriching the intellect and confidence of inner-city youth. Outside of high school I was hired as a tutor through Amicus II Educational Services where I was sent to several schools throughout the Metropolitan Detroit area including Bellevue Elementary, Noble Elementary, Cherry Hill School of the Performing Arts, and others. During the summer of 2005 I was hired as a Mathematics and Personal Development Teacher's Assistant for a pilot tutoring program known as "L.I.F.E. Academy" and held on the campus of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
My passion for tutoring stems from several people and experiences throughout my life such as my own elementary school teacher, Ms. Johnson. She was and still is excellent at teaching and inspiring students to continue their quest for knowledge and she is one of many "life teachers" whom I attempt to emulate in my service to others.
